If you do want to go salty-sweet, I prefer using margarita salt as it tends to be thicker and tastier than regular kosher salt. But if you tend to go sugar-forward, use only the sugar and cinnamon. I tend to not like sugar rims on a margarita, so this was a great balance for me. You’ll need: margarita salt, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, water or honey/agave nectar, and two small plates or a plate and salt rimmer. It’s like having a churro rim, and doesn’t that sound like a dream! You’ll need sugar, salt and cinnamon I know, I know … I can’t believe I haven’t made it myself on any other margarita recipe. Instead of the traditional salt rim, a great option for this festive cranberry margarita is a CINNAMON SUGAR AND SALT RIM. I would refrain from using this kind of tequila when making any type of tequila mixed drink. However, blanco tequila is also ideal because it has a light flavor.Īñejo tequila is best for sipping neat, and extra añejo is for special occasions (at least at my home!). Because reposado is aged longer than blanco, it adds extra dynamic flavor. Of those, there are two types of tequila to use in a margarita: reposado or blanco. There are three main kinds of tequila being: blanco tequila, reposado, and añejo. You can always make your own cranberry juice!
